26 weeks

starting the 26th week of pregnancy tomorrow. i can’t believe it has has gone by this quickly. that first trimester seemingly lasted forever. now i am fastly approaching the 3rd and i can hardly even believe it.

the other night gene was talking to the baby and i got 2 really hard kicks that made me jump. since then he hasn’t been able to rouse her like that again. i am starting to think she is a lazy little girl. i really cannot wait to see her again on ultrasound in a few weeks.

im starting my diet hard core this week. i let myself go for a few weeks there and i need to get better. i am going to go back to eating low carb like i am supposed to and get back on track. also, we’re going to try to start going on walks every night. i need to go on at least 30 minute walks each night.. maybe i can eventually work up to 60 minutes.

i really cannot wait to meet our precious little baby girl. i know i still have so much i need/want to do in her nursery but sometimes i just day dream of holding her in my arms. only 3 months and 1 1/2 weeks until our due date!

23 weeks

i’m currently 23 weeks pregnant and feeling great! besides battling the cold of all colds this last week, i am feeling great. we’ve done 2 of 4 baby basics classes so far. the first one was discussing nutrition during pregnancy and what pregnancy is and how it plays out. the next class was discussing the nursery, baby items you do and DONT need, child safety, etc. it’s really great looking forward going to those classes each week.

i am feeling the baby move a lot in the last couple of days. last night she was actually keeping me awake because she kept tumbling around in there and it felt like water swooshing all around all night. i was laying with my tummy pressing against gene’s back (spooning, if you will) and i think she really liked to be between mommy and daddy like that.

its a girl

we found out we’re having a girl on december 10th. we are so excited. we’ve already bought and received a lot of really cute pink and purple girly clothes. i am finally feeling a lot of movement and pokes inside. im ready to start the nursery. i love being pregnant and knowing that there is a little baby inside of my tummy. something about that is just absolutely amazing to me.

gene and i had a great christmas together. it is our last one with just us. we’re also ringing in our last “just us” new year tonight together. i’ll be drinking skim milk and sparkling grape juice. oh yeah, i am so hardXcore.

boy or girl?

tomorrow we’re going to see our obgyn for our monthly appointment. hoping we can hear the heartbeat with the doppler this time, but if not we’ll have an ultrasound and get to actually see the little ninja. next wednesday we are going to see a high risk doctor for our “big” ultrasound. that means we will possibly know the sex of our little ninja in just a week!

im getting really excited. over the weekend we got to see our first nephew, who is about 2 1/2 weeks old. and oh my gosh. i fell in love!! i can’t wait to have a little one of my own. just knowing that gene and i created this little being together is enough to almost make my heart explode. i can’t even imagine what i am going to feel like when i first hold my baby. i can’t even imagine the love!

gender bender

we have an appointment with a high risk doctor on december 10th to find out the sex of the baby and have our “big” scan to make sure all is going well with our little ninja. i am so excited and can’t wait to see the baby again.

i find myself really missing him/her when it’s been another month until i get to hear the heartbeat or see him/her on ultrasound. so in love and so happy.

the reality

i was looking at some dates of late july for a concert/festival next year. and i thought maybe we could go. and then i realized that we will have a 10-12 week old baby at that time. and wow, it really hit me.

time can’t move any slower. and sometimes? it’s moving too quickly.

on being a mama

i can’t wait to have this baby. i know once the baby is born and i am getting 2 hours of sleep every night i might be thinking differently, but right now i really want to meet our little ninja. i’ve wanted to be a mama since i was a kid and i know this is my true purpose in life. well, you know, besides being such a cool person in general ;]

mostly, i am thankful that i met such a wonderful man to share the rest of my life with. he will be the best daddy in the world and he is just as excited as i am about this pregnancy. we’ve shared the last 10 years and 5 months together and i look forward to many more decades with him. he is my best friend.

ok now im crying crazy pregnant lady hormonal tears.

knocked up

i’m all kinds of knocked up. thanks hubby! im 14 weeks 3 days pregnant. can’t wait to find out the gender in a month or so. you can call me mama chao now :]
